Ken Deshaies
is a REALTOR® in Colorado. Ken is an Accredited Buyer Representative
(ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate from
the realtor® Institute (GRI), one of the first 500 REALTORS®
in the country to become a Certified Internet Real estate
Professional (E-Pro500), a Real Estate Cyberspace Specialist

portion of their business through the use of current technology.
Ken began his real estate career in Denver in 1992, and since
1994 has worked in Summit County. He is affiliated with RE/MAX
Properties of the Summit and works in partnership with his wife, Mary. |
| Located an hour
west of Denver, Summit County is home to four ski resorts
and the highest fresh-water sailing lake in the United States.
Although purchasing resort real estate is similar in many
ways to buying in a metropolitan area, it offers unique problems
for locals and first-time homebuyers as well as for out-of
area investors. For several years, Ken served as the chairperson
of the Professional Standards Committee of the Summit Association
of REALROS the committee that oversees the ethical conduct
of its association members. Prior to real estate, Ken owned
a private investigations firm for 12 years in Denver, employing
and supervising seven investigators and serving for a period
as the President of the Professional Private Investigators
Association of Colorado. In this work, he conducted numerous
investigations into real estate transactions and claims of
fraud. Many of the stories in this book are from Ken’s experiences,
both before and after he became a REALTOR®. During much of
this time, he was also a member of the Win/Win Business Form
of Denver and was its president for a year and a half.
